Chicken Shawarma


Chicken Shawarma Recipe - Asian Food - The chicken shawarma is a very fast food popular in the Middle East. This food usually eaten with tabbouleh, fattoush, taboon bread, tomatoes, and cucumbers.

Ingredients: Chicken Shawarma

  • 4 pieces chicken boneless (more afdol if meat chicken breast)
  • 4 large slices of bread
  • ½ Cup yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon malt vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ¼ TSP cardamom green powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder to taste

Chicken Shawarma yogurt sauce:

  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 8-10 fresh mint leaves
  • 3-4 fresh parsley sprigs
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • Black pepper powder to taste

Chicken Shawarma salad:

  • 8 lettuce leaves
  • 1 medium-size onion, sliced thinly
  • 1 medium-size tomatoes, seeded and sliced
  • 1 large beet, peeled and cut into strips
  • 1 medium-size cucumber, peeled and cut into strips

How To Cook A Chicken Shawarma:

  • Grab a yogurt in a bowl. Add minced garlic, olive oil, malt vinegar, lemon juice, cardamom powder, salt and ground pepper, mix well.
  • Make incisions in chicken breast, add to the mix the yogurt, mix and set aside for 30-40 minutes to allow all the spices to infuse.
  • Preheat the oven to 200 C.
  • Wrap baking pan with aluminum foil, spray a little bit of olive oil and add the pieces of chicken breast spiced usdah.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool briefly.
  • Prepare the yogurt sauce, coarsely chopped mint leaves and sprigs of parsley and mix in a bowl.
  • Add the yogurt, lemon juice, salt, garlic and tahini paste to a bowl and stir. Add pepper powder and mix well.
  • Remove the chicken from the oven, coarsely chopped grilled chicken breast, then transfer to a bowl.
  • Warm your bread in the toaster or oven.
  • Pour some of the yogurt sauce on one side of each bread warm and don't forget enter 2 lettuce leaves in the middle of the bread. Afdolnya, put a few pieces, sliced red onions, sliced tomatoes, sliced cucumber and yoghurt sauce with lagid sirami on top and wrap with aluminum foil neatly.
